Rumus Passive Voice Simple Past Tense

Passive voice dalam simple past tense dibentuk oleh auxiliary verb was/were dan past participle.

Subject pada passive voice merupakan object pada active voice dengan was untuk singular subject (subjek tunggal) kecuali you, sedangkan were untuk plural subject (subjek jamak) dan you.

Berikut rumus passive voice dalam simple past tense:

active voice

S + verb-2 + direct object

passive voice

S (direct object) + was/were + past participle +/- by … (agent)

Agent pada passive voice merupakan subject pada active voice. Pada passive voice, subject bertindak sebagai penerima aksi, sedangkan agent sebagai pelaku aksi.

Rumus di atas berlaku untuk transitive verb. Bagaimana dengan intransitive verb? Kalimat dengan intransitive verb mungkin dapat dipasifkan jika memiliki prepositional phrase.

    (Tio memasak daging sapi panggang untuk makan malam.)

    Roast beef were cooked for dinner by Tio.
    (Daging sapi panggang dimasak untuk makan malam oleh Tio.)

  4. They just discussed about mental health.
    (Mereka baru saja membahas tentang kesehatan mental.)

    Mental health was just discussed by them.
    (Kesehatan mental baru saja dibahas oleh mereka.)

  5. Yesterday, my father booked the hotel yesterday.
    (Kemarin ayah saya memesan hotel tersebut kemarin.)

    Yesterday, the hotel was booked by my father.
    (Kemarin hotel tersebut dipesan oleh ayah saya.)

10 Contoh Soal Passive Voice dengan Simple Past Tense

Direct object pada active voice menjadi subject pada passive voice dimana pada simple past tense kata kerja verb-2 diubah menjadi be (was/were) + verb-3 (past participle).

Active Voice:

S + verb-2 + direct object

Passive Voice:

S (direct objectactive voice) + was/were + past participle +/- by … (subjectactive voice)

    • Maaf ada keliru Ari, selain salah bold, saya juga lupa kalo used to itu phrasal modal (diikuti verb bentuk dasar “eat”) untuk menyatakan kebiasaan di masa lampau. Walaupun fungsinya sama kayak simple past, serasa (emang) jadi ngerusak judul tulisan ini. Saya revisi jadi simple past saja.. 🙂

    • Tema yang lagi hot sih pemilu yak #eh?
      Hmm apa yah.. mungkin bisa tentang apa yang mau dimakan/masak utk makan malam, mobil yang ingin dibeli (merk, harga, keluar kapan, mau beli kapan), proyek yang sedang dikerjakan (progress, target), rencana kenaikan/penurunan berat badan (obrolan sama teman)… 😀
