Pengertian Abstract Noun

Abstract noun adalah kata benda yang menyatakan idea (ide), concept (konsep), feeling (perasaan), state (keadaan), atau quality (sifat, karakter). Kata benda ini dapat dipahami dan dibayangkan namun tidak dapat disentuh atau dilihat dengan indera. Banyak abstract noun yang terbentuk dari derivation.

Concrete noun adalah kata benda berupa material atau sesuatu yang berwujud nyata. Karena berwujud, concrete noun dapat disentuh dan diamati (dikenali oleh indera). Dengan demikian, concrete noun berkebalikan dengan abstract noun.
