Soal Negative – Present Continuous Tense

Rumus Negative – Present Continuous Tense

Kalimat positive present continuous tense menggunakan linking verb “be” (am/is/are) sebagai komponen verb phrase-nya. Kalimat negatif dapat langsung dibuat dengan menambahkan “not” setelahnya.

Kalimat Positive:

S + be (am/is/are) + present participle

Kalimat Negative:

S + be (am/is/are) + not + present participle

Catatan:

• is untuk subject berupa third person singular (Jack, a man, she, he, it)
• am hanya untuk “I”
• are untuk “you” dan plural subject (Jack and I, we, they)

Contoh Kalimat Negative – Present Continuous Tense

1. I am writing a letter.
   (Saya sedang menulis surat.)

   I am not writing a letter. / I‘m not writing a letter.
   (Saya tidak sedang menulis surat.)

2. They are counting votes.
   (Mereka sedang menghitung suara.)

   They are not counting votes. / They aren’t counting votes.
   (Mereka tidak sedang menghitung suara.)

3. He is sleeping.
   (Dia sedang tidur.)

   He is not sleeping. / He isn’t sleeping.
   (Dia tidak sedang tidur.)

4. It is snowing here.
   (Sedang turun salju disini.)

   It is not snowing here. / It isn’t snowing here.
   (Tidak sedang turun salju disini.)
