Come / Go (Verb): Penggunaan, Contoh Kalimat, dan Soal

Penggunaan Come dan Go

Come (past tense: came; past participle: come) digunakan untuk membicarakan perpindahan antara speaker dan listener atau perpindahan dari suatu tempat yang berbeda ke tempat dimana speaker atau listener sedang berada.Berbeda dengan come, go (past tense: went, past participle: gone) untuk menyatakan perpindahan dari tempat speaker atau listener sedang berada ke tempat lain.

Ketika membicarakan orang lain, speaker dapat menggunakan come atau go tergantung melihatnya dari sudut pandang doer (go) atau receiver (come).

Sarah [doer] just came to her doctor [receiver].
(Sarah baru saja datang ke dokternya.)

Speaker menggunakan sudut pandang receiver, jadi come yang digunakan.

Sarah [doer] just went to her doctor [receiver].
(Sarah baru saja pergi ke dokternya.)

Speaker menggunakan sudut pandang doer, jadi go yang digunakan.
