Pengertian Polite Request

Polite request adalah suatu bentuk pertanyaan sopan untuk meminta izin atau meminta bantuan. Pertanyaan ini dibentuk oleh modal auxiliary verb seperti would, could, will, dan can.

Rumus Polite Request

Meminta izin (asking for permission):

Can/Could/May/Might + I + bare infinitive +/- complement?

Meminta bantuan (asking for assistance):

Can/Could/Will/Would + you (please) + bare infinitive +/- complement?

atau

Would + you mind + gerund +/- complement?

Formal Polite Request

Could dan would merupakan modal yang digunakan untuk membuat polite request menjadi sangat sopan.

Contoh Kalimat (Formal)

    (Dapatkah saya menggunakan komputermu untuk print dan scan?)
  2. Would you like to see my handicraft?
    (Maukah kamu melihat kerajinan tangan saya?)

      Maaf saya tidak tahu perbedaannya Lala, saya pikir variasi saja antara would you mind (bare infinitive) + gerund (action) dan would you please + bare infinitive (action).
