Pengertian Eminent dan Imminent

Eminent dan imminent sama-sama merupakan adjective (kata sifat) yang meskipun terdengar hampir sama namun tidak dapat digunakan interchangeably (dipertukarkan) karena makna keduanya sangat berbeda.

Eminent yang lebih umum diantara dua kata tersebut bermakna “famous or respected” (terkenal atau terhormat) atau “conspicuous, outstanding or noteworthy” (menonjol, luar biasa, atau patut diperhatikan/dicatat), sementara imminent berarti “impending” (akan datang atau segera terjadi).
