Pengertian Be Likely

Be likely (+ to infinitive) merupakan konstruksi yang digunakan untuk membicarakan tentang seberapa mungkin (how probable) sesuatu terjadi.

Likely disini merupakan adjective (kata sifat) yang bermakna “probable” (mungkin).

Adverb (kata keterangan) seperti very, quite, highly dan extremely dapat ditempatkan sebelum likely untuk menguatkan maknanya. Be likely dapat pula digunakan dengan as … as, more, less, (the) most, dan (the) least untuk membuat perbandingan (comparison).

Versi negatif be likely dapat dibentuk dengan menambahkan not menjadi be not likely atau be unlikely untuk konstruksi yang lebih formal.
