Eminent dan imminent merupakan adjective (kata sifat) yang hampir sama pelafalannya namun tidak dapat digunakan interchangeably (dapat dipertukarkan) karena berbeda maknanya.

Eminent bermakna “famous or respected” (terkenal atau terhormat) atau “conspicuous, outstanding or noteworthy” (menonjol, luar biasa, atau patut diperhatikan), sedangkan imminent bemakna “impending” (akan segera terjadi).
